Cattle GRAZING

15 Red Poll cattle arrived on 13th June. They are restricted to the non-SSSI fields on the north side of the reserve: Wantsfield, Coles, Hilly Field, Hurlocks, Old Mill Hill, Bottom Mead and Wards Hoppits. They will graze there until August then will be allowed to graze the SSSI after the main growing season for wildflowers and insects for a few weeks to bring the sward down and hence allow the flora to grow back next year.
