What’s On?
Hope to see many of you at the Mill Meadows Fayre on Sunday 11th September for music, dancing, food, drink, games, side-stalls and more
The music starts with Folk Down Left who were very popular at the last event in 2018.
Then we are really looking forward to a performance from the Fusion Dance Troupe Company.
It doesn't stop there - the Mayflower Morris Men entertain us with their traditional dancing. Then The Delta Jacks, a popular local band (some of you may remember from Thingamegig days), will get us foot-tapping to their special brand of rockabilly-country-folk.
Birds of Prey will be on display and you can see demonstration of Milling and Basketry.
You can have a go at the Coconut Shi, Children’s Archery or Human Fruit Machine, build a Windmill, have a go at the Treasure Trail around Mill Meadows or join in with the Forest School .
Stalls are selling Wildlife Photos and Cards, Jam, Plants and Jewellery and you can find out more about the Wildlife Hospital , Essex Badger Protection and Norsey Wood.
If you are peckish you can choose between the 5th and 6th Billericay Scouts’ burgers or cakes, Chapel Street Kitchen or ice cream.
Thirsty? Beer from Billericay Brewing Company, teas and soft drinks from the Scouts or something sparkly from the Original Fizz Company.
The stalls open at 11.00 am, official opening by the Mayor of Basildon at 12 noon then music and dancing until 4pm.
Entry is free but if you can put some cash in the bucket you will be helping St Lukes Hospice and Mill Meadows.
You will find the Fayre in Mill Meadows (Wantsfield), Southend Road CM12 9QG
